ITHAMAR WHIPPLE & LYDIA BILLS. WAR OF 1812
Ithamar Whipple (1780-1868), born in Rutland Co., Vt. and died in Mosiertown, Penn. married Lydia Bills of Washington Co., N.Y 25 March 1802. They settled in Dryden, N.Y. in 1806 and he served in War of 1812 as an Ensign of a Company of Light Infantry in the Regt of Infantry commanded by Lt. Col. Henry Bloom. His commission was signed by Governor Daniel D. Tompkins 4 Feb. 1812. They had 13 children. Ithamar was an 8th generation member of the Matthew Whipple family.
