Harriet Whipple Carpenter was born in Ira, Rutland Co., Vt. in 1805 and died 9 Feb. 1863 in Tarlton, Pickaway Co., Ohio.  She married Isaac Newton Norton in Athens, Athens Co., Ohio 21 Feb. 1822.  She was a widow at the time of the 1860 U.S. Ohio census and owned personal property valued at $2,500.  They had a daughter and 4 sons.  Son James became a Judge.  She was a 9th generation member of the Matthew Whipple family.  The rest of the details are found in my book on 15 Generations of Whipples.   Click on Buy Now to order through Pay Pal.
